a day out from Derby

Catch the nines - it runs every 15 minutes - to Denby Pottery visitors centre, where you can see how the famous pottery is made. There's a special buy-one-get-one-free offer on drinks to club55 holders in the Bourne's restaurant.

Hop back on the nines to Ripley. Try Wetherspoons' Red Lion for lunch - you can get 20% off with your club55 card. Then catch red arrow on to Chesterfield, where's there's a fantastic market on several days. When you've done browsing simply catch the red arrow back to Derby.

a day out from Burton

You could do this trip from either Burton or Derby. Hop on the villager to Tutbury village, where you’ll find craft shops galore and a picturesque castle overlooking the River Dove. Then catch another villager into Derby city centre or Burton. Burton on Trent is always interesting to look round, and there are indoor markets Thursday through to Saturday.

Of course, Derby has the fantastic Westfield Centre with its superb choice of shops and stores, all under cover, and in the heart of the old part of the city is the Cathedral Quarter, well worth exploring.

Ashbourne & Uttoxeter

a day out from Derby

Catch swift from Derby to Ashbourne - it runs every hour from the bus station. The pretty town of Ashbourne is full of charm, with an impressive tall-spired church, antique shops and interesting food shops selling local produce.

There are plenty of places to grab a bite to eat in the town, including some lovely old-fashioned pubs. Afterwards you could hop on another swift and pop down to Uttoxeter. Wander through the town centre, or there's the nearby retail park with its cinema complex - the bus stops close by.

If you fancy an afternoon at the races, pre-book your tickets at Uttoxeter Racecourse. It's only a short walk from the bus station, and club55 cardholders get £5 off Premier and Grandstand tickets.
