trent barton beats top brands in social media top 100 list

We’ve delighted to have beaten leading household names such as the BBC, Virgin and BlackBerry on a prestigious list identifying the best brands using social media to communicate with customers.

At 29, trent barton was the highest public transport operator in a top 100 table compiled by the Social Brands 100 council.

Announced at a special event in London, the list also contains a wide range of retailers, manufacturers, service providers and charities. It was judged by a panel of representatives from Twitter, Google and social media marketing agencies.

Furthermore, out of the companies listed, we were ranked second when it came to the our use of Facebook in creating constant dialogue with customers.

Alex Hornby, Commercial Director, commented: “We really believe that the internet is a great way to talk to customers, especially with so many people using Twitter and Facebook on their phone while they are out and about.

“Social media perfectly complements our more traditional ways of engaging with customers, including meeting as many as we can face-to-face.”

Alex continued: “Our services are shaped by the needs of users and we try and do all that we can to let them know what we are doing. At the same time we want to make it as easy as possible for them to tell us how we can continue improving.

“We are delighted to be ranked above so many well-known names and it shows that we are at the forefront of the social media revolution,” he added.
