trent barton host MP visit

A Nottinghamshire MP, who is also a member of the House of Commons Transport Select Committee, has been briefed on our efforts to put customer service at the heart of operations

Nottingham South MP Lilian Greenwood has paid a special visit to our headquarters in Heanor, where she toured  our offices, training academy and maintenance depot.

Lilian Greenwood MP takes a close look at one of our  luxury buses with Managing Director Jeff Counsell (left) and Commercial Director Alex Hornby.

Jeff Counsell, Managing Director, said: "During Lilian's visit, we outlined our commitment to customer service and she certainly seemed impressed with both our approach and our facilities.

"We also took the opportunity to discuss a number of issues affecting the transport industry including the need for greater investment in bus-only routes and the key role buses can play in combating congestion."

He added: "Nottingham has been officially named as the country's least car-dependent city and we want to ensure that politicians recognise the vital contribution buses can - and do - make towards reducing the number of cars on our roads."

The tour was the first in a series of planned visits by local MPs to the award-winning company that serves communities across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

"We were delighted that Lilian took the time to listen to our views and we look forward to a number of equally productive meetings with other local MPs in the near future," explained Jeff.
