
If you're 60 or over or you have a disability, you might be eligible for a free bus pass.
Can I get a free bus pass?
Depending on your age and your circumstances, you might be able to get one of the following free bus passes, which allows you to travel for free on local buses:
- an older person's bus pass
- a disabled person's bus pass
What age do I have to be to get on older person's bus pass?
You can get an older person's bus pass when you reach State Pension age, which is currently 66.
How can I get a disabled person's bus pass?
There's no central provider of the disabled person's bus pass – to find out if you're eligible and how to apply, you need to get in touch with your local council. Find your local council here.
What do I need to get a free bus pass?
To get a free bus pass, you need proof of age (if applying by age) or proof of disability (if applying due to disability), and proof of your address. You can apply online, in person, or by post by submitting these documents along with a recent photograph.
For each local authority area, you will be entitled to travel using your concessions pass, at the following times:
Nottingham City Council
- Between 9.30am and 11pm on Monday to Friday
- Before 9.30am and after 11pm on Monday to Friday for Nottingham City Council mobility pass holders in Nottingham City Area.
- All day at weekends and Bank Holidays
