🎄 Heanor Market Christmas Light Switch-On

On Saturday 22 November 2025 Heanor Market Place will be closed between 7:15pm and 8:00pm for the Christmas Light Switch-On.
 

The festive fun means a short diversion for some of our buses while the lights sparkle into life!

 

 
✅ What’s happening?
 
To keep everyone safe during the celebrations, Heanor Market Place will be closed for the switch-on event. We’ve planned diversions so you can still get where you need to go with minimal fuss.
 
 
🚌 How your buses will run:
 
ilkeston flyer & 33
From Ilkeston Road, instead of turning left onto Mundy Street, buses will continue straight, turn left onto Ilkeston Road, use the old 21 bus stop, then right onto Mansfield Road to resume the normal route.
 
Coming from Mansfield to Heanor?
We’ll drop you at Hands Road, then head down Hands Road to Station Road and back to the depot.

    • Will skip Wilmot Street and instead continue straight, turn left onto Ilkeston Road, stop outside the college, then back to the usual route.
  • H1
    • The 8:00pm journey from Langley Mill runs as normal.
    • Other shifts will use Ilkeston Road and the college stop before rejoining the route.

    • The 7:10pm departure from Ripley will divert via Tesco roundabout, Thorpes Road, Burnthouse Road, and Ilkeston Road before rejoining the normal route.
    • Later journeys will follow the same diversion in reverse.
 
Any journeys finishing in Heanor during this time will terminate at Hands Road.
 
 
🚫 Bus Stops we can’t serve during the event:
  • Wilmot Street
  • Heanor Market
  • Heanor Church
