We’ve sent out a leaflet to thousands of concessionary pass holders across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire encouraging them to get out and about on our buses and visit the best the region has to offer. The guide describes where the best markets are for the best local produce, it has some fantastic garden centres to tempt even the most novice gardener and an explanation of what there is to do in the larger towns and cities across the East Midlands. All of the attractions are plotted on our network map along with a frequency guide on how to get there from Nottingham and Derby.
The places listed are easily accessible using our services, as well as buses from other transport operators that provide links to destinations further afield. Our very own top national bus driver, Alan Gilmour has been helping out with the promotion, he explained “As well as helping older people to get out and about and make the most of their bus pass, we hope the guide will also provide a boost to businesses that will benefit from extra custom over the summer.”
A group of over 60s with bus passes at the ready help National Bus Driver of the Year, Alan Gilmour, show off the Free Days Out guide.
Attractions featured in the guide include stately homes, castles, markets and garden centres, and there are also details of bus services to surrounding towns and cities.
