Nottingham Old Market Square | closest bus stop: Broadmarsh bus station & Victoria bus station

Notingham's festive light switch-on will mark the opening of this years Winter Wonderland. Complete with an ice-rink on which you can impress all your friends, Christmas trees (it wouldn't be Christmas without them) and snow-capped cabins. The winter Wonderland includes a tradional festive market selling lots of gift ideas if you're a bit stuck with your secret Santa. You can even get the compulsary festive tipple of warming mulled wine. As if that, wasn't enough, there is also a bandstand, rides and a nativity scene. It's like all your Christmas' have come at once.

Light switch on: 24 November from 5.30pm - 8pm.

Christmas Market: 10am until 6pm (8pm late night shopping)

Ice Rink: 11am - 10pm (last session starts at 9pm)

Mansfield Market Square | closest bus stop: Mansfield bus station

Mansfield will host an afternoon of festive fun and entertainment at thier BIG switch-on in the Market Square. This years event is set to be bigger and better with FREE and low cost things to do throughout the day. Kids of all ages can visit Santa in his toy factory grotto as well as ejoying a parade with special guests (you will have to wait and see who). Like a good advent calendar, the treats keep coming...You can also take part in a circus and magic workshop as well as the free Buzzy B Club inside the Four Seasons Shopping Centre.

Chesterfield Market | closest bus stop: New Beetwell Street

Chesterfield is set to be bathed in twinkly, sparkly Christmas-ness as their annual light switch-on takes place on Sunday 20 November. They will get the (snow)ball rolling in the Market Square and New Square with entertainment, stalls, games and rides as well as the Market Hall being open from 11am - 5pm with selected stalls. The main event will get started at 3.30pm with Peak FM providing the action. Kids of the 90's will be interested to hear that 911's Lee Brennan will perform the Christmas lights switch on along with Chesterfield's mayor and Peppa pig. For younger readers, these two didnt make up the rest of 911.

Sutton-in-Ashfield | closest bus stop: Sutton bus station / Lammas Road

Sutton's Saturday Market will be transformed into a vision of Christmas, like the front of a Currier and Ives Christmas card (ish). With loads of festive activities and entertainment to enjoy throughout the day. You will be able to get your mits on all your everyday essentials from the regular Saturday Market, as well as some yule-tide bits and bobs from local crafters at the Christmas Festival Market.

Mickleover | closest bus stop: Mickleover Tesco 

Mickleover's festive offering takes place on Sunday 27 November. Like a modern 12 days of Christmas it will have...craft stalls, fun fair, Santa, a live music stage, mulled wine/cider and fireworks, but sadly no partridge or even a pear tree. As well as all these lovely treats, we will also be sharing our latest presents to the people of mickleover - Our brand new mickleover buses! The new bright pink buses complete with extra leg room, free USB and WiFi as well loads of other fabulous new features will be parked up for you to have a good old nosey around at. We will also be handing out lots of other treats to celebrate the launch. Come and see us nice and early to get you hands on some fabulous free gifts and avoid disappointment.
