International Women's Day 2021
This International Women's Day, we'd like to introduce you to our Digital Marketing Executive, Head of Operations, Customer Service Assistant, General Manager, Service Delivery Manager, Buyer, Customer Helper and Driver. These women are just a small handful of the women working here at trentbarton, helping to establish us as the really good bus company.
We took some time to find out a little bit more about them and the things that make them smile.
Name: Scarlet McCourt
Job title: Digital Marketing Executive
Your favourite part of your job: My favourite part of my job is communicating all the great things that team trentbarton does.
Hobbies and interests: When I’m not in the office, you will usually find me watching the football at the City Ground or out with my friends.
Something we don’t know about you or would be surprised to know: You’d be surprised to know that I spent 8 years attending a drama school!
Name: Sharon Bailey
Job title: Head of Operations
Your favourite part of your job: Meeting and helping different people and that no two days are the same.
Hobbies and interests: Spending time with my family, walking and reading.
Something we don’t know about you or would be surprised to know: I was a police cadet and wanted to be a police woman.
Name: Nicola Grebby
Job title: Customer Services Assistant
Your favourite part of your job: My favourite part of the job is chatting to customers and helping as much as I can. It also helps working with a great team.
Hobbies and interests: I enjoy walking with my fur babies, reading, and when possible going to church (pub!).
Something we don’t know about you or would be surprised to know: I am too open and honest, so everyone knows pretty much everything about me, but I used to work for a small clothes shop in my late teens/early 20’s and they used to have seasonal fashion shows. Yours truly would model and walk the catwalk (obviously I was a lot slimmer and better looking back then). Also, I can drive a 7.5 ton tipper lorry!!

Your favourite part of your job: Being part of a successful company facing all the challenges that arise.
Hobbies and interests: I love my holidays, shopping and spending time with my family.
Something we don’t know about you or would be surprised to know: I love being involved in renovations and home improvement projects, I’ve been involved in doing up 5 different houses/bungalows of my own in my time and I've still not had enough!
Name: Laura Pike-Smart
Job title: Service Delivery Manager at Langley Mill
Your favourite part of your job: Working with all of the team to deliver our services as intended to our very high standards.
Hobbies and interests: I am completely obsessed with trainers, some of my collection haven't even been worn or removed from their boxes - I have that many pairs that my wife has banned me from buying anymore!! I'm guessing I have about 100 pairs and counting!
Something we don’t know about you or would be surprised to know: I used to be in the RAF ATC - my role was squadron adjutant and I had the opportunity to train cadets in BTEC qualifications, radio courses and progress through the ranks. They even allowed me to fly small aircrafts (with the addition of a pilot of course) from RAF Syerston.

Job title: Buyer
Your favourite part of your job: I haven’t really got a part of my job that I like best… I just love doing what I do!
Hobbies and interests: Running, spending time with my husband and girls, socialising with friends (obviously pre-covid) looking forward to doing that again!
Something we don’t know about you or would be surprised to know: I can wiggle my ears, without touching them.

Your favourite part of your job: Meeting and talking to our customers
Hobbies and interests: Walking my dogs and football
Something we don’t know about you or would be surprised to know: I’m a crazy mad Man City fan 42yrs loyal to the club I love. I also have a fear of driving, I have had over 15 instructors trying to teach me and still only hold a provisional licence.

Your favourite part of your job: Resolving customer issues plus I love driving.
Hobbies and interests: I like cross stitching, as well as writing, reading and watching movies.
Something we don’t know about you or would be surprised to know: I was in the newspaper in 2011 because I won the super server award whilst working at Iceland - it's my claim to fame!
