MANGO discounts go down a treat with pub diners

Customers at a popular pub have been toasting the success of our MANGO offer that gives them discounts on meals and a safe journey home afterwards.

The Observatory in Ilkeston is one of 35 Wetherspoon’s pubs across trent barton land that offers 20 per cent discounts on food to customers who show their MANGO smartcard.

Mr Mango mascot helps Amanda Peacock to serve up some more tasty meals at the Observatory in Ilkeston.

Since the scheme was introduced last year, several thousand people have taken advantage of the offer, providing a welcome boost for the pubs while helping customers enjoy a drink and a bite to eat without having to worry about driving home.

Sarah Taylor, Marketing Manager explained: “As well as allowing our customers to prepay for their travel online, the MANGO card offers discounts at more than 50 other retailers, pubs and restaurants across the region.

“The Wetherspoon’s offer has proved particularly popular, with many of our 18,000 MANGO card holders enjoying a bargain lunch or evening meal.”

Added Gavin Gill, Area Manager at Wetherspoon’s: “The success of the offer is good news for everyone.

“As well as bringing even more people into our pubs, it has encouraged more of them to travel there by bus. At the same time customers can enjoy a fantastic meal at an even better price.”
