Derby fun day celebrates flagship bus service boost

Visitors to Derby city centre on Friday (July 23) are being invited to join in the fun at a special event organised by the trent barton team

The "red arrow HITS THE SQUARE" event being held at the Market Place will feature music and entertainment, including children's archery, giant jenga and giant connect four. Staff from trent barton will also be on hand to give out plenty of free gifts, including complimentary red arrow tickets, whilst showing off the latest addition to the company's fleet - one of five brand new, high specification coaches.

The event is being staged to celebrate the expansion of the company's flagship red arrow service that directly connects Derby with Nottingham and Chesterfield, and Commercial Director, Alex Hornby explained: "This service has already proved incredibly popular with more than 75,000 customer journeys every month.

"The new coaches, which represent an investment of almost £1 million and the creation of 15 new jobs, will enable us to significantly increase the frequency of the service and we hope that even more people will now want to discover the luxury travelling experience we offer."

The new vehicles are equipped with free wi-fi connectivity, leather seats, tables and air conditioning and are powered by the latest in environmentally friendly engines.

"This is a significant development for us and we wanted to share the good news with the people of Derby. We hope that many new and existing customers will join us in our celebrations on Friday," Alex added.
