Alex (28) hails from Liverpool and is a graduate of Aston University in Transport Management. During his time at university, he gained his PCV licence and drove buses at Travel West Midlands in Birmingham, offering him a truly grounded approach to the needs of customers and the work of driving staff. He then joined Stagecoach as a Graduate Management Trainee, in turn becoming Assistant Operations Manager in Canterbury and then in Manchester. In 2006 Alex left Stagecoach to take up a promotion with the Go-Ahead group as Operations Manager of Bluestar, the main bus company in Southampton and South Hampshire.
A founder member of the Young Bus Managers' Network, which brings together similarly minded people across the UK to share best practice in the bus sector, as well having a keen interest in transport and travel - exploring both the UK and North America - he enjoys live music, modern design and keeping fit. Alex will be deliberately taking up residence along our indigo route near Beeston along with his wife of nearly a year, Rachel.
