Bus launch boosts Albion's dash for the play-offs

Residents in the Branston area of Burton will soon be benefiting from a £120,000 investment in public transport with the launch of a new bus link to the town centre.

The new service, called dash, will run every 30 minutes from Regents Park and to celebrate the launch operators trent barton have agreed to sponsor Burton Albion's League Two clash against Darlington at the Pirelli Stadium on Saturday, April 3.

Explained Sarah Taylor, Marketing Manager at trent barton: "The new bus will provide a valuable service for local residents and we wanted to mark the occasion by supporting another organisation that's important to the community.

"The football club was an obvious choice, especially as they are doing so well this season and still in with a chance of making the play-offs."

The new service starts on April 6, operating from 7.00am to 7.00pm. It provides customers with comfortable leather seats in a pleasant, colour co-ordinated environment, as well as dedicated spaces for people using a wheelchair or pushing a buggy.

The distinctive, state-of-the-art bus also benefits from an environmentally friendly engine and a new ticket machine utilising GPS technology.

This technology enables dash customers to use trent barton's popular MANGO Card, offering them the opportunity to save at least 25% on the cost of standard single fares and the convenience of not paying cash when boarding the bus.

Commented Fleur Robinson, Commercial Director at Burton Albion: "We are delighted to have trent barton join us as programme sponsors for the game. The Burton Albion Travel Plan, which has been promoted at selected matches this season, encourages our supporters to use public transport when travelling to the stadium on a matchday.

"trent barton offers a number of bus services that stop outside the Pirelli Stadium and it is an important partner in helping us beat traffic congestion around the ground."

Added Sarah Taylor: "We hope this sponsorship will give the club a lift and wish the team every success in their remaining matches."
