Derby Cathedral Quarter come on board with MANGO

Derby Cathedral Quarter has teamed up with trentbarton to enhance the range of benefits to members of their popular loyalty scheme by combining the card with our popular MANGO smartcard.

At present, more than 9,000 cardholders are entitled to benefits such as discounts, special promotions and exclusive offers from more than 100 businesses in the Cathedral Quarter including shops, cafés and restaurants, salons, entertainment venues and professional services.

Under the new Cathedral Quarter MANGO loyalty scheme, cardholders are also able to benefit from MANGO – providing 25% off single bus fares - with the option  to top up the MANGO card at www.trentbarton.co.uk/mango and at Derby bus station.

Martin Langsdale, chair of the Cathedral Quarter management group, explained: “The Cathedral Quarter loyalty scheme has been one of the most successful projects under the first five year BID and businesses were keen to update and re-launch the scheme as part of the new BID programme.

“The scheme has engendered a real sense of community by encouraging people who work here to support their neighbouring businesses and has embraced the loyalty felt by the public to this unique part of the city centre.

“We are delighted that trentbarton has come on board with us. The Cathedral Quarter is well served by the public transport system and many of the people who live, work and visit here travel by bus.

“By expanding the range of benefits to cardholders, we hope that more people will be encouraged to use the extensive bus network to and from the Cathedral Quarter and we look forward to extending the scheme both in terms of the number of cardholders and the businesses providing benefits in the coming months.”

Alex Hornby, Commercial Director at trent barton, commented: “It makes so much sense for us as the region’s really good bus company to improve awareness of the excellent destinations we serve and support our local economy in Derby.

“This initiative is a win-win for our current customers, those seeking to save money and encourage discounted travel to work. Over 100,000 trips a week are made with MANGO and we look forward to boosting the scheme further thanks to this new partnership with the Cathedral Quarter. ”
