Heads‑up for Saturday 7 March – busy day across Nottingham

We wanted to give you an early heads‑up about three major events taking place in and around Nottingham on Saturday 7 March. Together, these are likely to cause increased traffic and congestion across the city, especially at peak times.

What’s happening

🏃 Inter‑Schools Cross Country Championship – Wollaton Park
This all‑day event will see large numbers travelling into Wollaton Park, with competitors arriving from 8am onwards. Expect congestion on roads leading into and around the park throughout the day.

🎓 Nottingham Trent University Open Day
Taking place at both Clifton and City Centre campuses, this will increase traffic on the A453 and on routes heading into the city centre, particularly during the morning and early afternoon.

England Lionesses v Iceland – City Ground
Kick‑off is at 12.30pm, and with a sell‑out crowd expected, there will be heavy congestion around Trent Bridge and West Bridgford before and after the match.

Please allow a little extra time for your journey and plan ahead where possible.

Our driving team will be doing everything they can to keep you moving, and we’re sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for bearing with us.
