trentbarton's the calverton route has welcomed six buses boasting all mod cons to the key service for the people of Calverton, Arnold, Daybrook, Sherwood and Nottingham. 

Half a dozen revamped better buses have freshened up the fleet and were introduced in Calverton's St Wilfrids Square last Saturday (26 January).

The buses hit the roads last Sunday (27 January) on the calverton, which runs between the village and Nottingham every 15 mins. 

More than £75,000 has been invested by trentbarton in adding air conditioning, bespoke comfy seats with USB power, and next stop audio and visual announcements to the route. 

the calverton's dedicated driving team remain behind the wheel - and they were rated good or really good by 98 per cent of customers in the most recent survey. 

Sherwood MP Mark Spencer and parish councillors were keen to take a look at the buses. Mark said: "The new buses look very good. They are very smart and, to be honest, you can't tell that they are refurbished as they look brand new. The USB power points for mobile phones and other devices will go down really well. 

"It's an absolutely vital bus route for the local community, not just for Calverton but for a lot of nearby villages. People are able to go into town reasonably cheaply, avoid parking and with a frequency where you don't have to check the timetable.

"trentbarton have been supportive of Calverton for almost a generation, and long may that continue."
