Community groups invited to join in centenary fun

Community groups from across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire are being invited to join in the celebrations to mark our 100th birthday.

They’re being offered the chance to fundraise at our Big Weekend party over the Spring Bank Holiday on Sunday 26 May, one of a series of events planned for our centenary year.

Alex Hornby, Commercial Director, explained: “In 1913, Trent Motor Traction first took to the roads and we want the communities we still serve to benefit from our celebrations.”

As well as giving other charitable organisations the chance to raise funds with stalls and games, the Big Weekend at at depot in Langley Mill will also benefit the Lewis Mighty Fund, our nominated charity for 2013.

A number of local bands have already confirmed they will be taking part, as will local breweries, while other attractions include family fun rides, food stalls and displays of buses both old and new.

Alex added: “With a limited amount of space available, I would urge organisations such as schools, sports clubs and youth groups to get in touch as soon as possible if they want to join in the fun.”

Anyone who would like to take part should email us at bigweekend@trentbarton.co.uk
