Hair today, gone tomorrow.
trentbarton bus driver Caroline ‘Caz’ Johansson is fearing the chop – after pledging to have her head shaved for charity.
Our ilkeston flyer driver looks to have issued a one-way ticket for her hair after making the promise ahead of Nottingham’s Robin Hood Half Marathon this September. Caroline is seeking to raise £1,000 for Help For Heroes – trentbarton’s adopted charity for the year - and if she reaches her target, the locks will go.
The promise of Caroline taking to the wheel with a shaved head has spurred passengers and trentbarton colleagues into action, wasting no time helping to raise funds. Now it looks like it won’t be long before she swaps the hum of her engine for the snip of the scissors – with daughters Sophie, aged four, and Bryony, nine, raring to go. No wonder she’s getting nervous.
“I really should think about what promises I make!” laughed Caroline. “I can’t believe they would do this to me - especially my regular customers. “It’s looking likely that I really will have to run a half marathon and get my head shaved. Seriously though, it’s all money for Help For Heroes and I will stand by my word.”
trentbarton has been keen to support their determined driver. Our Marketing and Communications Director Alex Hornby said: “This is a great effort by Caroline to raise money for a very worthy cause. I’m sure the sacrifice of having her head shaved will be worth it!”
