20 Happy days for Koa and friends at Theatre Royal, Nottingham

A bus fanatic from Long Eaton has won 20 free tickets to watch one of the first showings of Happy Days at Theatre Royal Nottingham thanks to a very special competition from the theatre and trentbarton.

In the past month, we have sought out a deserving group of 20 people from communities across the East Midlands to enjoy an evening at the theatre to watch Happy Days, alongwith their very own bus to take them out for the night - and bring them back home again. Winner Koa Maddock-Bradley was selected from a number of entries in the There Goes the Neighbourhood giveaway, selecting 19 members of her family and friends to join her.

Koa even donned a dress adorned with red double decker buses for the evening in celebration of her win, and was full of excitement before the show saying: “I was thrilled to win such an amazing prize, and it was a joy to spend an evening together with family and friends. And it felt only right to dress up properly for the occasion!”

The big surprise of the evening was the full Happy Days cast including Ben Freeman, Heidi Range and Cherryl Baker awaiting the bus as it arrived at the stage door, giving Koa and her family and friends the unique opportunity to meet the stars of the show before the performance.

The evening of was arranged by TRCH Nottingham and trentbarton as part of their ongoing partnership to encourage more people to visit shows by bus. Discounted bus travel is available to anyone who shows a Theatre Royal or Royal Concert Hall ticket to their trentbarton bus driver as they board, or discounted bus travel can be added on to any online ticket purchase as well.

Marketing & Communications Director of trentbarton, Alex Hornby, said: “Giving back to our customers and communities is a critical part of how we do business. This competition was designed to do something really special for a deserving group of people in the East Midlands. Despite many entries, we felt Koa and her friends were worthy winners and we’re thrilled they enjoyed their evening, arriving in style by bus and getting a surprise welcome from the wonderful Happy Days cast before the show.”

Happy Days is showing in Nottingham from 30 June until 5 July as part of the first UK theatrical tour based on the unforgettable TV series featuring everyone’s favourite ‘King of Cool’ Arthur ‘The Fonz’ Fonzarelli.
