Fancy swapping the car for a little adventure? Hop aboard indigo and discover some of the brilliant pubs, bars and beer spots waiting to be explored along the route from Derby to Long Eaton.
With indigo running from Derby bus station every 20 minutes during the daytime, it’s an easy way to leave the car behind, settle into your seat and enjoy the journey.
First stop, Chaddesden
Start your adventure at Chaddesden Lane End, where you’ll find the Toby Carvery. Just across the road is Hoppy Place, a modern bar with a changing selection of beers and outdoor seating.
Next stop, Borrowash
Jump back on indigo and head to the Nag’s Head in Borrowash. It’s been part of the local community for years, with a cosy lounge, a larger bar and a friendly atmosphere.
Draycott has plenty to discover
In Draycott, you’re spoilt for choice. The Hoptimist, Victoria and Coach and Horses are all within easy reach, each with its own character and atmosphere.

Fancy some live music? The Coach and Horses hosts an impromptu jam night on the last Tuesday of every month.
A little further along you’ll find the Olympic, a characterful pub with quirky rooms and a garden that’s great for families.
Onwards to Breaston and Long Eaton
Heading towards Breaston, make a stop at the Chequers, before continuing towards the Bull’s Head on the way to Long Eaton.
Once you reach Long Eaton, there’s even more to explore. The Looking Glass, York Chambers and Rowells Drinking Emporium are all featured on the route, giving you plenty of reasons to hop off and have a wander.

And the best bit? indigo runs late into the evening, making Long Eaton and the places along the route easy to get to without worrying about driving home.
