A happy couple from Arnold are jetting away with Jet2.com on the 17 November 2013 for a fantastic 3-night break in the Big Apple, courtesy of trentbarton, East Midlands Airport, and Jet2.com.

This summer, in partnership with our friends at East Midlands Airport and Jet2.com, we ran a highly successful ‘find the skylink driver’ competition, which featured a caricature of our very own skylink driver Duane hidden in three popular holiday destinations; New York, Prague and Budapest.

Thousands of people across the East Midlands entered the competition to win a fabulous shopping break to New York, including flights and hotel accommodation for a couple or a family of four courtesy of Jet2.com.  The lucky winners were Ian and Amanda Worley, who live on our calverton connection route in Arnold and will use skylink to kick off their break in the city that never sleeps.

The news has given the Worleys a perfect end to what has been a very difficult year. Ian and Amanda celebrated their wedding day a year ago and three weeks into their marriage Ian was diagnosed with cancer. A year on, he is doing well and the prize really has lit up their lives. Winning the competition has given them the opportunity they needed to get their lives back on track – and we’re obviously really thrilled for the happy couple.

Our skylink manager Barry Allitt congratulated Ian and Amanda, “We really enjoyed promoting this competition and it’s always great to give someone good news. But it’s clear that Ian and Amanda really needed this trip away to close what has been a difficult year for them. I’m really pleased we’ve been a small part in helping them enjoy a well-deserved holiday.”
