Joint offer ticket set for take off

Transport operators in and around Nottingham have joined forces to make travelling to East Midlands Airport easier and more affordable than ever.

Now anyone using the city’s tram network or an NCT bus to connect with the  popular skylink Nottingham can buy a special return ticket to the airport for just £5.

skylink runs every 30 minutes, 24-hours a day, and to qualify for the discounted ticket all customers need to do is show their tram/NCT ticket when they get on the bus.

Alex Hornby, Commercial Director, explained: “This initiative represents another great example of transport operators working together to make travel by bus and tram an ever more attractive alternative to the car."

“We’re delighted to be able to offer yet more savings for customers who need to use more than one service to get to the airport for a holiday or to collect friends and family.”

As well as offering a fast and reliable journey to the airport, skylink Nottingham also provides a important link between Long Eaton and Nottingham.

Quiet and comfortable, the buses have environmentally friendly engines and a spacious, designer interior with special spaces for wheelchair users and customers pushing a buggy.

Commented Anthony Carver-Smith, NCT Marketing Manager: “This is a fantastic offer and shows real joined-up thinking between local transport firms who want to make life easier for customers.”

Phil Hewitt, Chief Executive of NET’s concession company, Tramlink Nottingham, added: “We hope this latest initiative will encourage more people to leave their car at home and discover the comfort and convenience of travelling by bus and tram.”
