skylink provides easy access to the airport

Holidaymakers and business travellers can now enjoy an even more relaxed journey to East Midlands Airport with the launch of a new skylink for Nottingham.

The new service runs every 30 minutes between Nottingham and the airport, via Long Eaton, with a bus travelling on to Loughborough every hour. The Nottingham skylink runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with no last bus.

Commercial Director, Alex Hornby gears up for the launch of the new skylink service with East Midlands Airport’s Head of Customer Services, Nicola McCabe

The move has seen the introduction of improved buses with new features such as free wi-fi, a more comfortable bus interior, easy access for people travelling in a wheelchair or with a buggy and additional luggage shelves.

The new look Nottingham skylink will strengthen the successful relationship trent barton and sister company Kinchbus already have with East Midlands Airport. The skylink service that runs to the airport from Derby, Loughborough and Leicester has seen customer numbers grow by 25% in the last 12 months and nearly a million journeys were made last year alone.

Alex Hornby, Commercial Director, commented: “I’m delighted that we can bring the trent barton magic to the new look Nottingham skylink

“Our dedicated team of drivers form part of our market-leading customer service package and they are very excited at the opportunity to welcome new users to the enhanced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week route.

“We are looking forward to increasing the number of people that take the stress-free and smarter choice for their journey to the Airport and with additional features such as free wifi, skylink really makes the best use of your travelling time.”

The improved service is also an excellent example of partnership working and Nicola McCabe, Head of Customer Services at East Midlands Airport added: “We are really excited about the new look skylink for Nottingham and Long Eaton. trent barton has gone out of its way to enhance the skylink product and to ensure access to the airport is easier than ever. We’re pleased to strengthen what has already been a successful partnership with trent barton and Kinchbus.”
