Vintage Vehicles and cash giveaways mark our 100th Birthday

A spectacular fleet of vintage buses will be retracing the route of the very first trentbarton routes as we celebrate our 100th birthday on Thursday, October 31.
The buses will run between Derby and Ashbourne and Derby and Nottingham exactly 100 years to the day after the launch of the Trent Motor Traction Company, and everyone is invited to join in the celebrations.

At the same time, wewill be raising money for its chosen charity for our birthday year, the Lewis Mighty Fund, and giving away £100 to ten lucky customers.

Alex Hornby, trentbarton Commercial Director, explained: “The name may have changed and the network has expanded across Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and beyond, but we can trace our roots back to a very special day in 1913.

“To mark the landmark occasion we’re offering free rides on the vintage vehicles along the routes now served by our i4 and swift buses.

“Whilst anyone is free to enjoy these wonderful relics of times gone by, we will be encouraging people to make a donation to a very worthy, local cause that’s supporting youngsters battling against cancer.”

The birthday celebrations aren’t confined to Derby, Nottingham and Ashbourne, however. Ten customers on other routes are in for a huge surprise when they board a trentbarton bus.

“To really make their day we will be giving away a cool £100 in cash to ten lucky customers as a special thank you for supporting us over the years. The money will be hidden in ten Gold envelopes, which will then be placed underneath a seat on ten different buses for customers to find,” said Alex.

“The money could be hidden at any time during the day on any trentbarton bus, but you can keep up to date on all that’s happening across the network during the birthday celebrations by following us on Twitter and Facebook.”
